Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce "Preview" Was Disappointing

Last Thursday I went to the Las Vegas Chamber's annual "Preview Las Vegas" on the advice of a friend that this event is where all the movers and shakers meet to divide up the town.

What a bust!

The whole thing was just one big commercial for Las Vegas, the event's sponsors, and for keynote speaker Oliver North's show on the Faux Broadcasting Network. Virtually every presentation was preceded by a video chronicling Sin City's meteoric rise from desert dust mop to most desired destination. For those of use who live here - well duh! We already KNOW about all that.

My friend said she's been to all the "Previews" except for last year's. She noted how the attendance has gone down - from around 4000 a few years ago to an estimated 2000 this year. She also noted how the ticket price has steadily risen from $35 to $75. Could there be a correlation?

Advice to the Las Vegas Chamber and for chambers of commerce everywhere: Give us some USEFUL information and maybe we'll renew our memberships.
